Comments: Ichikawa Monnosuke II was a popular tachiyaku actor who made all his successful career in Edo in the second half of the eighteenth century, excelling in aragoto, wagoto and budôgoto roles. He was able to play either Soga Gorô Tokimune (aragoto style) or Soga Jûrô Sukenari (wagoto style) in the new year sogamono. He was also a talented dancer.
