November 1727: Jûjirô plays at Miyako Mandayû's theater (Kyôto) in the kaomise drama "Masukagami Eitaigura". November 1728: Jûjirô plays at Kameya Kumenojô's theater (Kyôto) in the kaomise drama "Tokiwagura Kogane no Ishizue", which is produced by Tamiya Hannosuke. 1729 ~ 1732: Jûjirô is on tour all over Japan. March 1732: Jûjirô appears on stage for the last time in Nagoya. Comments: Aaso Jûjirô was a talented onnagata actor, who achieved fame for himself in three major cities (Edo, Kyôto and Ôsaka) from the Genroku era to the Kyôhô era. He was considered as the artistic heir of the star Yoshizawa Ayame I and excelled in budôgoto female roles, especially in roles equivalent to sabakiyaku. He was the founder of the Asao clan.
