Dates of birth and death unknown. Son of Matsumoto Shirosaburô and younger brother of Ichikawa Danzô I, he made his training in miyaji shibai, performing under the name of Ichikawa Hyakumatsu. He became tachiyaku and took the name of Ichikawa Danzaburô I in November 1711 at the Moritaza, playing in the kaomise drama "Kôbai no Momoyoguruma". He appeared on stage for the last time in February 1713 at the Moritaza, where he played in the drama "Isshin Oyako Zakura". |
