November 1749: he makes his first appearance on stage at the Ichimuraza, receiving the name of Bandô Kikumatsu II and playing a child role in the drama "Yoritomo Gunbai Kagami".

January 1751: his father Bandô Hikosaburô I dies.

November 1751: Bandô Kikumatsu II takes the name of Bandô Hikosaburô II at the Ichimuraza, playing 2 roles in the kaomise drama "Kamimukae Nigiwai Genji".

November 1764: Hikosaburô achieves a great success by playing in the Ichimuraza kaomise drama "Wakaki no Hana Suma no Hatsuyuki".

September 1766: Hikosaburô plays at the Ichimuraza the role of Hayano Kampei in the drama "Kanadehon Chűshingura". The role of Okaru is played by Onoe Matsusuke I.

January 1768: Hikosaburô appears on stage for the last time, at the Nakamuraza, playing in the drama "Fude Hajime Soga no Tamazusa".

Comments:

Bandô Hikosaburô II was mainly a tachiyaku, who was also able to perform wakashugata or wakaonnagata roles. He was a very popular actor among the female audience of Edo theaters but he unfortunately died young.
