| Ichikawa Kodanji I | |||||
|
Born in 1676. His first stage name was Takinaka Kachô. He became disciple of Ichikawa Danjûrô I, received the name of Ichikawa Kodanji I and was trained as a wakashugata. He took the name of Ichikawa Nedanji I in January 1724 at the Moritaza. He took back the name of Ichikawa Kodanji I in January 1726, playing at the Ichimuraza the role of Washinoo no Saburô in the new year drama "Niwatori Ôshû Genji". This was his last stage performance. He died in Edo the 12th of November 1726. |

An unknown tachiyaku actor held the name of Ichikawa Kodanji in Nagoya in 1733 but he was never acknowledged as an official name-holder. |

Dates of birth and death unknown. He started his career in 1752 as a disciple of Ichikawa Danjûrô IV and his first stage name was Ichikawa Sanji. He became wakaonnagata and took the name of Ichikawa Kodanji II in November 1768, playing at the Nakamuraza the role of Princess Minazuru in the kaomise drama "Ima o Sakari Suehiro Genji", which celebrated the arrival in Edo of Nakamura Utaemon I. We don't know what happened to him afterwards for he disappeared from the records.
