Career:

1790s: he started his career in Edo as a disciple of Masuyama Kinpachi I, who gave him the name of Masuyama Chûji.

1813: he became disciple of Hon'ya Sôshichi.

11th lunar month of 1813: Chûji worked for his master Hon'ya Sôshichi (tatesakusha) at the Moritaza, along with Tsuruya Nanboku IV (tatesakusha) and Ichioka Washichi I, on the kaomise drama "Gohiiki Tsunagi Uma".

End of the 1810s: he worked for the actor Ichikawa Monnosuke III. As the yagô of this actor was Takinoya, he took the name of Taki Shinzaburô.

11th lunar month of 1820: Shinzaburô worked at the Kawarasakiza for the tatesakusha Tsuruya Nanboku IV on the kaomise drama "Ise Heiji Ume no Mitegura", which celebrated the shûmei of Onoe Tamizô II, Ôtani Monzô II and Iwai Kiyotarô IV.

11th lunar month of 1822: Shinzaburô worked at the Ichimuraza, along with Tsuruya Nanboku IV, Segawa Jokô II, Oto Usuke I, Matsui Yûsuke II, Matsui Kôzô II and Hanagasa Rosuke, on the kaomise drama "Gohiiki Tsuwamono no Majiwari", which welcomed back Iwai Hanshirô V in Edo and celebrated the shûmei of Onoe Kikujirô I and Nakayama Kinsha.

1820s ~ beginning of the 1830s: he took back the name of Masuyama Chûji.

11th lunar month of 1833: Chûji worked at the Ichimuraza, along with Nagawa Motosuke, Fukumori Kyûsuke II and Tamamaki Kyûji II, on the kaomise drama "Koi Yoriiru Tsui no Yumitori".

1834: he took the name of Hon'ya Hanshichi.

11th lunar month of 1834: Hanshichi worked at the Moritaza, along with Takarada Jusuke and Namiki Gohei III, on the kaomise drama "Hana to Mitsu Yuki no Shiraishi".

11th lunar month of 1835: Hanshichi worked for the tatesakusha Takarada Jusuke at the Moritaza on the kaomise drama "Hanayagura Kabuki no Jintori", which celebrated the shûmei of Ichikawa Kuzô II and Bandô Zenkô.

11th lunar month of 1837: Hanshichi worked at the Ichimuraza, along with Nakamura Jûsuke IV, Shinoda Sasuke, Tsuuchi Jihê IV and Fukumori Kyûsuke II, on the kaomise drama "Onikirimaru Mimasu no Kakutsubo".

11th lunar month of 1843: Hanshichi worked at the Ichimuraza, along with Sakurada Jisuke III, Shinoda Sasuke and Fukumori Kyûji, on the kaomise drama "Wakatonobara Sharin no Ôyose", which commemorated the 12th anniversary (13th memorial service) of the passing away of Bandô Mitsugorô III. No record afterwards.
