Date of birth unknown. He was related to Kamakura Heikur˘ I but he started his career in the Ichikawa clan, He made his debut on stage in the 12th lunar month of 1755 in Ky˘to, performing under the name of Ichikawa Matakur˘ at Hayagumo Ch˘dayű's theater in the kaomise drama "Homare Otoko Bandaigura", which was produced by Nanba Matsunosuke. He became katakiyaku and took the name of Kamakura Heikur˘ II at the ďnishi no Shibai, where he performed in the kaomise drama "Shiki Sanban Okina Kagami". He went to Edo in Fall 1759 but could not perform at the Nakamuraza in the kaomise drama because of a late arrival. He appeared on stage for the last time, in Edo at the Moritaza, where he performed in the drama "Mina Mezame Yuriwaka Daijin". His ranking in the 1767 Edo hy˘banki, katakiyaku section, was j˘-(shiro)j˘ (superior - (white) superior). He died the 24th day of the 10th lunar month 1767.
