Onoe Shôruku celebrates his shûmei at the Shôchikuza by playing the roles of Ranpei in the play "Ranpei Monogurui" and the fox Tadanobu in the dance "Yoshinoyama".

Kataoka Gatô plays the bombastic role of Soga Gorô in the short play "Ya-no-Ne".

Educational program at the National Theatre called Kabuki Kanshô Kyôshitu ("Kabuki appreciation class"). This is a very interesting formula for the beginners because there is lively presentation of Kabuki (or some aspects of the art like music, stage tricks or fighting scenes) on stage, followed by 2 acts of the classic "Kanadehon Chûshingura".
