Before 1705: disciple of Yamamura Kazaemon, he received the name of Yamamura Utanosuke.

3rd lunar month of 1705: first recorded performance in Kyôto, where he performed as a wakaonnagata in the new year ni-no-kawari drama "Keisei Inaba no Matsu", which was produced by Sakata Hyôshichirô at Hoteiya Umenojô's theater.

11th lunar month of 1714: Utanosuke played in Kyôto the role of Tamiemon's nyôbô Osan in Sadoshima Saburôzaemon's kaomise drama "Yorozuyo Saiwai Gura", which was staged at Miyako Mandayû's theater.

11th lunar month of 1715: Utanosuke performed in the kaomise drama "Chiyogasane Kiku no Shinpai", which was produced by Yamatoyama Jinzaemon I for the nadai Hayagumo Chôdayû.

11th lunar month of 1716: Utanosuke played in Kyôto the role of the musume Okane in the kaomise drama "Tatsu no Miyako Ikuyo no Yonedawara", which was produced by Yamatoyama Jinzaemon I.

11th lunar month of 1717: Utanosuke played in Kyôto the role of Princess Take [1] [illustration] in the kaomise drama "Genjôraku Biwa no Ôumi", which was produced by Yamatoyama Jinzaemon I in Ebisuya Kichirôbê's theater.

11th lunar month of 1718: Utanosuke played in Kyôto the role of Dônosuke's younger sister Ôsaka in Adachi Saburôzaemon's kaomise drama "Shiga no Miyako Kogane no Hanazono", which was produced by Yamatoyama Jinzaemon I for the nadai Ebisuya Kichirôbê; the role of Shinohara Dônosuke was played by Fujikawa Kinjûrô.

11th lunar month of 1719: Utanosuke played in Kyôto at Ebisuya Kichirôbê's theater the role of Otome in the kaomise drama "Hôraisan Hiyoku no Tsurukame", which was written by the sakusha Sakakiyama Kansuke I and Nakayama Kinzô and was produced by Yamatoyama Jinzaemon I.

1st lunar month of 1720: Utanosuke played in the same theater the role of Chisato-no-Mae in the new year ni-no-kawari drama "Keisei Mizoro-ga-Ike".

Fall 1720: Utanosuke settled in Ôsaka.

11th lunar month of 1720: Utanosuke played at the Higashi no Shibai the roles of Okyô and Otsuru in Kyôya Yagoshirô's kaomise drama "Kogane no Ikioi" and in the kiri kyôgen "Nanshoku Kamo Samurai Jûshichikinenki", which were produced by Arashi San'emon III.

11th lunar month of 1721: Utanosuke played the role of Fuji's nyôbô Makino at Hayagumo Chôdayû's theater in the kaomise drama "Fuji Asama Taiheiraku", which was coproduced by Wakaura Kinjûrô (who played the role of Fuji) and Matsumoto Shigemaki.

Fall 1722: Utanosuke went back to Kyôto.

11th lunar month of 1722: Utanosuke played in Kyôto the role of Wadaemon's nyôbô Osome in Sakakiyama Kansuke I's kaomise drama "Senbon Matsu Tokiwa Yakata", which was produced at Hayagumo Chôdayû's theater by Sakakiyama Shirotarô I and welcomed in Kyôto the Ôsaka star Anegawa Shinshirô I; the role of Mandô Wadaemon was played by Somekawa Rokurôzaemon.

11th lunar month of 1723: Utanosuke played the role of Manjûrô's nyôbô in the kaomise drama "Manchô Chitose-gura", which was produced by Arashi Sanjûrô I for the nadai Ebisuya Kichirôbê; the role of Tagamatsu Manjûrô was played by Arashi Sanjûrô I.

11th lunar month of 1724: Utanosuke played in Kyôto at Hayagumo Chôdayû's theater the role of Sadasuke's nyôbô Omasa in the kaomise drama "Sanmen Daikoku Mangoku Dawara", which was produced by Mihogi Gizaemon I and starred Bandô Hikosaburô I, Arashi Sangorô I, Somenoi Hanshirô, Katayama Kozaemon, Mihogi Shichitarô, Matsumoto Tomojûrô I, Matsunami Hikojûrô (who played the role of Andô Sadasuke), Fujikawa Heikurô, Sodeshima Genji, Tsugawa Kamon, Kirinami Onoe, Onoe Gonbê (who celebrated his shûmei) and Dekishima Kozarashi III.

11th lunar month of 1729: Utanosuke played in Kyôto the role of Kureha in the kaomise drama "Fukuju Yakata Wagô no Futabashira", which was produced at Kameya Kumenojô's theater by Sakakiyama Shirotarô I.

1st lunar month of 1730: Utanosuke's rank in the 1730 Kyôto hyôbanki, wakaonnagata section, was jô-jô-(hanshiro)kichi (superior - superior - (half-white) excellent) [visual]. No record in Kamigata ôshibai afterwards.

1730s: Utanosuke most likely performed in tabi shibai or miyaji shibai. He performed in Nagoya at the Seijuin no Shibai in 1734 and 1735. No record afterwards.

Yamamura Utanosuke was a Kyôto wakaonnagata actor, who was active from the middle of the 1700s to the middle of the 1730s.
