February 1714: Shigemaki's rank in the Edo hyôbanki, wakaonnagata section, is jô-jô-(shiro)kichi (superior - superior - (white) excellent). Fall 1715: Shigemaki goes to Kyôto. November 1715: Shigemaki plays at Hoteiya Umenojô's theater the role of Ohatsu in the kaomise drama "Manpô Chitose no Matsu", which is produced by Yamatoya Jimbei III and includes a kôjô commemorating the sudden death of Kataoka Nizaemon I. January 1716: Shigemaki's rank in the Kyôto hyôbanki, wakaonnagata section, is jô-jô-kichi (superior - superior - excellent). November 1718: Shigemaki achieves a great success at the Ônishi no Shibai by playing the role of Okyô in the kaomise drama "Suehiro Chôja Bandaigura", which is produced by Sawamura Chôjûrô I. January 1719: Shigemaki's rank in the Ôsaka hyôbanki, wakaonnagata section, is jô-jô-(shiro)hankichi (superior - superior - (white) half excellent). December 1719: Shigemaki goes to Kyôto. November 1720: Shigemaki becomes zamoto and coproduces with Wakaura Kinjûrô in Kyôto the kaomise drama "Shin Yakata Fukutoku no Kado". November 1721: Shigemaki coproduces with Wakaura Kinjûrô in Kyôto at Hayagumo Chôdayû's theater the kaomise drama "Fuji Asama Taiheiraku". January 1723: Shigemaki appears on stage for the last time, playing in Kyôto in the new year drama "Keisei Hitomaruzuka". Then, he retires from the Kabuki world. The year of his death is unknown. Comments: Matsumoto Shigemaki was a wakaonnagata, who made his career from 1697 to 1723. He excelled in onna budô, shittogoto, housewives and keisei roles. He opened an incense shop after retirement.
