Dates of birth and death unknown. He was recorded for the first time in the 1st lunar month of 1699, when he performed as a katakiyaku in Ôsaka at the Kado no Shibai in the new year ni-no-kawari drama "Keisei Hachisugawa", which was produced by Arashi San'emon II. He became tachiyaku in the 1st lunar month of 1712, playing in Ôsaka the role of Yamada Kunigorô in the new year drama "Soga Furiwake Gami", which was produced in Ôsaka by Arashi San'emon III. He switched back to katakiyaku roles one season later, in the 12th lunar month of 1712 in Ôsaka, where he performed in Azuma Sanpachi's kaomise drama "Enmei Kobukuro". His rank in the 1713 Ôsaka hyôbanki [1], katakiyaku section, was naka (middle class). No record afterwards.
