Ichikawa Ichizô IV
 

Born in Ôsaka in the district of Kita-Horie the 15th of October 1868. He started his career in 1877 as a disciple of the actor Bandô Jusaburô II, who gave him the name of Bandô Hôsaku. He became nadai in 1886 and took the name of Ichikawa Ichizô IV in November 1889 at the Kadoza. He died in Ôsaka the 1st of August 1944. He was an important supporting tachiyaku actor, who regularly performed in the troupes led by Nakamura Ganjirô I. Some of his best roles were Magoemon ("Shinjû Ten no Amijima"), Tambaya Hachiemon ("Fûin Giri") or Nuregami Chôgorô ("Futatsu Chôchô Kuruwa Nikki").
