Career:

November 1939: first stage appearance, at the Asakusa Kokusai Gekijô, where he receives the name of Arashi Ichitarô IV and plays the role of the bonze Otobô in the drama "Osowareta Machi".

March 1951: Ichitarô joins the Zenshinza troupe.

June 1955: Arashi Ichitarô IV takes the name of Arashi Yoshio at the Ôsaka Kabukiza (Ôsaka), playing the roles of Ôishi Chikara, a machi musume and the courtesan Ofusa in "Jitsuroku Chûshingura", "Osome no Nanayaku" and "Godairiki Koi no Fûjime".

December 1957: Yoshio becomes an official member of the Zenshinza troupe.

14 November 1977: his father Arashi Yoshisaburô V dies.

December 1978: Arashi Yoshio takes the name of Arashi Yoshisaburô VI at the Shimbashi Embujô, playing the roles of Nakayama Kichisaburô, Okame and Yagorô in "Maiôgi Bojô" and "Ehon Gappô-ga-Tsuji" (2 roles).

22 August 1996: Yoshisaburô dies.
