Dates of birth and death unknown. He was a tachiyaku actor, who held this name in Ôsaka in Fall 1779. His relationship with Bandô Toyosaburô I is not clear (disciple? adopted son?). Previous stage name(s) unknown. He played the role of Senzaki Yagorô in the classic "Kanadehon Chûshingura", which was staged at the end of the 11th lunar month at the Kado no Shibai (produced by Yoshizawa Iroha I). He was ranked jô-(shiro)jô (superior - (white) superior) in the 1780 Ôsaka hyôbanki. There was also a record of his performances in Ise in 1785.

The actor Morita Matasaburô held the name of Bandô Toyosaburô III up to the 2nd lunar month of 1832.
