The actor Arashi Rikan III held the name of Arashi Tokusaburô III from the 1st lunar month of 1831 to the 10th lunar month of 1834, from the 1st lunar month of 1835 to the 3rd lunar month of 1835, from the 1st lunar month of 1836 to the 10th lunar month of 1839, from the 1st lunar month of 1840 to the 3rd lunar month of 1841, then from the 8th lunar month of 1841 to the 10th lunar month of 1843.

Born in Ôsaka the 24th of March 1883. Son of the Bunraku puppeteer Kiritake Monjûrô I and grandson of Arashi Rikan IV, he became a disciple of Arashi Tokusaburô V and made his debut on stage in 1889 in Ôsaka at the Kadoza, where he received the name of Arashi Tokutarô. He took the names of Arashi Wasaburô IV and Arashi Tokusaburô VI in 1896 and June 1923. He joined the Shôchiku movie company in Kyôto in 1930 and became an important movie actor from the beginning of the 1903s to the middle of the 1950s, starring in more than 150 movies. He died the 8th of November 1955. By leaving the Kabuki world for the Cinema, he ended one of the most successful Kamigata lines of actors.
