Dates of birth and death unknown. Disciple of Matsushima Han'ya I, his stage name was Matsushima Hanshichi I and he started his career performing as a wakashugata in tabi shibai. He was recorded as performing in Ôsaka in 1682 and 1683. No record afterwards. He was the master of Matsushima Hanshichi II.

Dates of birth and death unknown. He was a disciple of Matsushima Hanshichi I. He was recorded as performing in 1708 in Kyôto as a wakaonnagata. He played in the 11th lunar month of 1710 in Ôsaka at Shioya Kuroemon's theater the role of Teruhi-no-Mae in the kaomise drama "Shusse Yakushi Jûnishin", which was produced by Arashi Sanjûrô I. He played in the 11th lunar month of 1711 in Ôsaka in the same theater the role of Shiranume in Azuma Sanpachi's kaomise drama "Tanba Tarô Kamado Shôgun". His rank in the 1712 Ôsaka hyôbanki, wakaonnagata section, was naka-no-jô (superior in the middle class). No record afterwards. He was said to be better in jidaimono than in sewamono and he excelled in musume or hime roles. He was also the master of both Matsushima Hyôtarô and Matsushima Moheiji.
