Born the 19th of May 1941. Son of Ichikawa Arajir˘ II and grandson of Ichikawa Arajir˘ I, he made his debut on stage (hatsubutai) and received the name of Ichikawa Arajir˘ III in September 1957 at the Kabukiza, playing the role of Fukumatsu in the drama "M˘ja Zuma". This program celebrated also the shűmei of Matsumoto K˘jaku I, Nakamura Kichigor˘ I, Matsumoto Komagor˘ II and Matsumoto K˘nosuke. It was also the hatsubutai of Matsumoto Matsunosuke. He appeared on stage for the last time in July 1969, in T˘ky˘ at the National Theatre, where he played the role of Chikamatsu Kanroku in the 4th act of "Kanadehon Chűshingura". No record afterwards.
