May 1953: he became disciple of the actor Sawamura Tosshi VIII and received the name of Sawamura Kuninosuke at the Nakaza,
playing a minor role in the drama "Taira no Masakado".
October 1953: Sawamura Kuninosuke took the name of Sawamura Tokiya.
August 1955: he became disciple of Morita Kan'ya XIV, who gave him the name of Bandô Moriwaka I.
July 1967: he became nadai and took the name of Bandô Kashû at the Kabukiza,
performing in the drama "Toyoshiga no Shi".
September 1979: he became disciple of the onnagata actor Sawamura Tôjûrô II,
who gave him the name of Sawamura Tôsha; he played a bonze role at the Kabukiza in the dance "Meoto Dôjôji".
July 1981: revival at the Kabukiza of Tsuruya Nanboku IV's drama "Hitori Tabi Gojûsan Tsugi";
