Sawamura Minegorô I

Dates of birth and death unknown. First stage record in the 11th lunar month of 1717, when he performed as a wakashugata [1] at the Naka no Shibai in the kaomise drama "Inari Yashiki Daikoku Bashira", which was produced by Sawamura Chôjûrô I [2]. He went to Kyôto in Fall 1719 with Sawamura Chôjûrô I. He played in the 12th lunar month of 1719 the role of Katsunojô in Adachi Saburôzaemon's kaomise drama "Yamato Ôji Meoto Izumi", which was produced by Sawamura Chôjûrô I. Last stage record in the 11th lunar month of 1721, when he played in Kyôto at Miyako Mandayû's theater the role of Emon Tarô in the kaomise drama "Inari Fuku In'yô no Kanegura", which was produced by Sawamura Chôjûrô I. Sawamura Minegorô I's 's rank in the 1722 Kyôto hyôbanki, wakashugata section, was (superior) [visual]. No record afterwards.

Dates of birth and death unknown. He was most likely a disciple of Sawamura Chôjûrô I [2]. One stage record in the 11th lunar month of 1730, when he performed as a wakashugata iroko in Kyôto at Kameya Kumenojô's theater in the kaomise drama "Eiraku Shiki no Kogane", which was produced by Sakakiyama Shirotarô I. He was recorded in two 1731 Kyôto hyôbanki, which were published in the 1st and in the 3rd lunar months of 1731. No record afterwards.

[1] Sawamura Minegorô I played the role of Matsuda Yoichirô in this kaomise drama.

[2] Sawamura Chôjûrô I was most likely the master of both Sawamura Minegorô I and Sawamura Minegorô II. Not recorded in Nojima Jusaburô's book "Kabuki Jinmei Jiten".
