Career:

7th of July 1904: born in Kumagaya (Saitama Prefecture).

January 1935: premiere at the Tôkyô Gekijô of Uno Nobuo's drama "Fubuki Tôge" [casting].

September 1935: premiere at the Kabukiza of Uno Nobuo's drama "Kôdan Yomiya no Ame" [more details].

December 1949: Chikamatsu Monzaemon's drama "Ikutama Shinjû" is revived at the Mitsukoshi Gekijô, using a new script written by Uno Nobuo [more details].

July 1951: premiere in Tôkyô at the Kabukiza [casting] and in Ôsaka at the Ôsaka Kabukiza [casting] of Uno Nobuo's drama "Jiisan Baasan".

October 1952: premiere at the Kabukiza of Uno Nobuo's drama "Kanda Bayashi".

January 1955: premiere at the Ôsaka Kabukiza of Uno Nobuo's drama "Naniwa no Ashi" [casting].

July 1955: premiere at the Tôkyô Takarazuka Theater of Uno Nobuo's drama "Mômoku Monogatari", which stars Nakamura Kanzaburô XVII (Tôkichirô/Hideyoshi, Yaichi), Nakamura Utaemon VI (Oichi-no-Kata), Hasegawa Kazuo (Shibata Katsuie) and Nakamura Senjaku II (Ochacha/Yodogimi).

February 1960: premiere at the Kabukiza of Uno Nobuo's drama "Shiranui Kengyô" [casting].

May 1970: premiere at the National Theatre of Uno Nobuo's drama "Yanagikage Sawa no Hotarubi".

February 1979: revision by Uno Nobuo at the Shinbashi Enbujô of Sakurada Jisuke III's drama "Sanzesô Nishiki Bunshô" [casting].

28th of October 1991: Uno Nobuo dies.

Comments:

Uno Nobuo was a prolific 20th century playwright, who created several important Shinkabuki dramas and revised many classics, especially for the National Theatre. He was nicknamed Shôwa no Mokuami (the Mokuami of the Shôwa era).

There was a slight difference between his pen name and his real name:
