Career:

1827 ~ 1836: disciple of Onoe Kikugorô III, his first stage name was Onoe Kikusaburô IV and he started his career in miyaji shibai in Kamigata. He became a disciple of Kataoka Gatô I at an unknown date and received the name of Kataoka Chôdayû III.

1836: he took the name of Kataoka Ainosuke III.

1st lunar month of 1850: Ainosuke went to Edo to perform at the Nakamuraza. He went back to Ôsaka.

5th lunar month of 1856: Ainosuke went to Edo once more to perform at the Moritaza.

6th lunar month of 1859: he performed in Nagoya at the Seijuin no Shibai under the name of Kataoka Kikuo ^[1].

11th lunar month of 1860: he took back the name of Kataoka Ainosuke III in Kyôto at the Minamigawa no Shibai.

8th lunar month of 1861: Ainosuke played at the Naka no Shibai the role of the courtesan Kikuno in the drama "Godairiki Koi no Fûjime"; the roles of Sasano Sangobê and Katsuma Gengobê were played by Arashi Kichisaburô III and Jitsukawa Enzaburô I.

2nd day of the 12th lunar month of 1861 ^[3]: Ainosuke died.

1st lunar month of 1862: Ainosuke's rank in the Kamigata hyôbanki, wakaonnagata section, was jô-jô-kichi (superior - superior - excellent) [visual].
