Born in 1811 in Edo. Disciple of Nakamura Tsurusuke I, he made his debut as a child-actor performing under the name of Nakamura Utaki. He became wakaonnagata and took the name of Nakamura Utanosuke at the end of the Bunsei era (around 1832). He went to Kamigata in 1832, where he became tachiyaku. He became disciple of Nakamura T˘z˘ III and received the name of Nakamura T˘jaku at an unknown time. He finally took the name of Nakamura Tsurusuke III in the 8th lunar month of 1848 in ďsaka at the Chikugo no Shibai. This actor was said to be good in yatsushigoto and jitsugoto. He was also appreciated in tachimawari. He died in ďsaka the 5th day of the 2nd lunar month of 1851.
