Segawa Kamesaburô
Segawa Kamesaburô  In Japanese
 

Born in 1786. Adopted son of Segawa Rokô III, his stage name was Segawa Kamesaburô. He went to Edo with his adoptive father and Nakayama Hyôtarô I in Fall 1804. He played in the 11th lunar month of 1804 at the Nakamuraza the role of Funawaka Gorô in the kaomise drama "Kiku Zumô Mikurai Sadame", which celebrated the shûmei of Iwai Hanshirô V, Ichikawa Yaozô IV and Nakayama Bunshichi III. He took part in the 11th lunar month of 1807 in the grand shûmei for the Hamamuraya guild, which was produced at the Nakamuraza within the kaomise drama "Kaikei Yuki no Konoshita" : his adoptive father Segawa Rokô III and his brother-in-law Segawa Michinosuke respectively took the names of Segawa Senjo and Segawa Rokô IV. Kamesaburô's rank in 1811 Edo hyôbanki, wakaonnagata section, was jô-jô-(shiro)kichi (superior - superior - (white) excellent) rank [visual]. He played in the 3rd lunar month of 1811 at the Nakamuraza the role of the keisei Kokonoe in the Ishikawa Goemon drama "Nennen Saisai Masago no Ishikawa". This was his last appearance on stage. He died in Edo a few months after his adoptive father, the 18th day of the 5th lunar month of 1811 [1].

Segawa Sangorô

Date of birth unknown. He started his career in Edo, performing under the name of Sakakiyama Sangorô. He became a disciple of Segawa Kikunojô II in 1759 and received the name of Segawa Sangorô in the 11th lunar month of 1759, when he played at the Nakamuraza the role of Prince Kiyomihara in the kaomise drama "Shôgaichi Kaomise Matsuri". His rank in the 1760 Edo hyôbanki was two black strokes above jô-(shiro)jô (superior - (white) superior) [visual]. He was active in Edo up to Fall 1760. He died in Edo the 24th day of the 5th lunar month of 1761 [2].

Segawa Shinzô
Segawa Shinzô  In Japanese
 

Born the 19th of November 1925 in Tôkyô. He started his career in 1949 when he joined the Zenshinza. He became a disciple of Segawa Kikunojô VI in 1953 and received the name of Segawa Shinzô. He left the Zenshinza and became a freelance actor, working mainly in television dramas. He died the 21st of August 1989.
