The sakusha Kanai Sangyô held the name of Kasane Sensuke I from the end of 1815 to 1818.

Dates of birth and death unknown. His father was from the district of Hacchôbori and was named Sugiura. He started his career as a disciple of Onoe Baikô III. He became sakusha and worked in the 1st lunar month of 1825 at the Nakamuraza, along with Tsuruya Nanboku IV, Matsui Kôzô II, Matsui Yûsuke II, Katsui Genpachi and Izutsu Yasuke, on the new year sogamono drama "Okuni-iri Soga Nakamura". He also worked in the same theater in the 5th lunar month of 1825 on the drama "Genbuku Soga Satsuki no Fujigane". He retired from the Kabuki world and settled in Fukagawa. He joined back Onoe Kikugorô III but quickly fell ill and died at an unknown date.
