December 1955: he makes his first appearance on stage, at the Haiyûza Gekijô, where he plays a koyaku role in the drama "Hanazakari".

January 1958: he receives the name of Fujikawa Hachitarô I at the Misonoza (Nagoya), playing the role of Matahachi in the drama "Megumi no Kenka".

August 1972: Hachitarô joins the Zenshinza troupe.

August 1976: Hachitarô becomes an official member of the Zenshinza troupe.

December 1980: Fujikawa Hachitarô I takes the name of Fujikawa Yanosuke at the Kabukiza, performing in "Yuki Matsuri Gonin Sanbasô", "Tôyama Zakura Edo no Shiranami" and "Ohama Goten".

May 2000: Yanosuke plays the role of Sasano Sangobê in Namiki Gohei I's drama "Godairiki Koi no Fûjime", which is performed at the National Theatre to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the death of Kawarasaki Kunitarô V. His stage partners are Arashi Keishi (Satsuma Gengobê) and Kawarasaki Kunitarô VI (Sakuraya Koman).

Comments:

Fujikawa Yanosuke is a talented tachiyaku and katakiyaku actor. He is one of the leading actors of the third generation of the Zenshinza troupe and an outstanding dancer.

Fujikawa Yanosuke's best roles: Yoemon ("Gedatsu no Kinu Momiji Kasane"), Seikichi ("Gojû no Tô"), Tarôkaja ("Suô Otoshi") and Benkei ("Ushiwakamaru").

He also writes scripts, under the pen name of Ôzakaya Happo.
