Kanazawa Ryûgoku I
 

As a sakusha, the Kamigata star Nakamura Utaemon III held the name of Kanazawa Ryûgoku I.

Date of birth unknown. Disciple of Nagawa Tokusuke I, he received the name of Nagawa Motosuke. He learnt the art of sakusha in Kamigata. He went to Edo with his master and the actors Arashi Tokusaburô II, Nakamura Gennosuke I and Arashi Ryûgorô in Fall 1820. He worked at the Nakamuraza on the kaomise drama "Saruwaka Hisago no Gunbai". Thanks to the patronage of the actor Arashi Kanjûrô I, he worked for the star Bandô Mitsugorô III. He became nimaime sakusha in the 11th lunar month of 1828 and worked at the Ichimuraza, along with Nakamura Jûsuke IV, Matsushima Chôfu I and Matsukawa Hôsaku, on the kaomise drama "Mitsugi no Yuki Genji Hiiki". His yearly salary was 70 ryô. He became tatesakusha in 1830 and he went back to Ôsaka in 1836. He took the name of Kanazawa Ryûgoku II and worked in Ôsaka or Kyôto for several years. He died in 1842.
