CHÛTARÔ JIZÔ

The Chûtarô Jizô was built in 1958 by Hasegawa Shin, the author of "Mabuta no Haha", in the precincts of the Rengeji Temple (the Temple of the Lotus Flower) at the Banba station on the Nakasendô. This sacred Jizô is used by people praying for a chance reunion with a beloved one who left without trace.
