Visiting Maracanã is a must for any football lover in the world. It's one of the world's largest football stadium,
with a seating capacity of around 100,000 supporters.
We went there with our friend Sergio to watch the match between Botafogo,
one of the most famous Rio Teams, and Atlético-PR, a good team from Curitiba. Sergio brought us
to the popular section for diehard Botafogo supporters. Unfortunately for them and for us, the hurricane (Furacão, the nickname of Atlético-PR) from Curitiba
easily put out the Great Fire (Fogão, the nickname of Botafogo) of Rio.
The Estrela Solitária (the "Lonely Star", another nickname of Botafogo) took a big hammering, losing by 4 goals to zero.
It was a bad night for them, because they also had the bad luck to miss a penalty goal, shot on the goal-post by Dodô, Botafogo's best player.
Anyway, independently of the result and thanks to Sergio, we had a great night!
We definitively recommend to anybody going to Rio, either a football lover or a football hater, to go there to experience one of the hottest passions in Brasil.
Next time, I'll do my best to be in Rio for a Fla-Flu!
